Happy to share some news about advocacy activities at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania!
A few weeks ago SCCL Members established an Advocacy working group consisting of KG Knutsson, SLT Industrial Components, Baltic Amadeus, Syno International, Volvo Lietuva, Nordgain, Scania Lietuva and led by the Managing Partner at WALLESS Dovilė Burgienė. Based on the input given by the group Members, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania submitted a list of business suggestions to the Lithuanian Parliament and Government leaders, represented and signed by the Chair Lina Šiumetė. The suggestions include, among others, the introduction of government subsidies for rent of the commercial property, one-time “go-digital” grants as well as the possibility to offer digital competence development trainings for laid-off employees, while keeping the subsidies for lay-offs. The suggestions have been submitted to the Minister of Finance, Minister of Economy and Innovation, Vice Minister of Economy and Innovation, also, to the Chairperson of the Committee on Finance and Budget, and the Chairperson of the Committee on Economics at the Seimas.
At its second meeting, were Member company Ansell also joined the discussions, group members agreed on the two main health-related measures in order to overcome the challenges caused by the Coronavirus: an increased #Covid-19 testing as a commercial service for businesses and guidelines for better employee protection. The suggestions have been submitted to the Minister of Health, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, also, to the Chairperson of the Committee on Health Affairs at the Seimas.
