The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania was established as the Swedenhouse in 2001, which in 2005 was transformed into the Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania. It is part of the Swedish Chambers International network and a member of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania was founded by Carl Berneheim and Jan Hansson:

“1999 the issue of a meeting place for Swedish people, businesses and associations were discussed at the Embassy. It ended up with establishment of Sweden house in Vilnius 2001. Without any budget or any premises but we arranged different events in the name of Sweden House. From the very beginning there were 12 members, both from Lithuania and Sweden.

2005 we got a request from SCC in Riga to establish the SCC in Lithuania. In a members meeting Autumn 2005 we decided to transform Sweden House to SCC, which formally was established in the beginning of 2006.

In such way former Sweden House became a genuine business association.”
